Are you looking for a Healthy Home Assessment?
Our Healthy Home Assessment service offering is designed to comprehensively assess your property’s health, identifying potential risks and likelihood for:
- Condensation dampness
- Penetrating dampness
- Rising dampness
- Inadequate space heating
- Inadequate ventilation
- Inadequate insulation
We do this by carrying out an extensive property inspection including:
- Building context
- Structural assessment
- Ventilation assessment
- Heating assessment
- Energy assessment
We can also offer live real-time continuous monitoring of environmental conditions and resident education.
Ventilation and Relative Humidity
As part of your homes health, ventilation pays a critical role. As part of our home health assessments, we record each property’s relative humidity levels to establish whether there is adequate ventilation in the property.
The higher the relative humidity of the air within your home, the harder it is to heat. With higher humidity in home, increases the risk of condensation dampness of areas of insufficient insulation.
To tackle this adequate background ventilation and extract ventilation is key. Learn more about our ventilation testing services here.
Cold Bridging and Temperature Analysis
Areas of inadequate ventilation, that are found to be cooler than its surrounding structure as a consequence are at risk of condensation.
We provide you with a clear picture of where and why heat is lost or gained, helping you make intelligent adjustments for optimal conditions to avoid dew point on areas of unavoidable cold bridging.
Examples of cold bridging include external door and window reveals, junctions of walls, floors and ceilings and service penetrations.
Energy Assessment and Heating Requirements
We perform a thorough mould detection and source of origin investigation, identifying parts of the property most vulnerable to mould.
We do this by taking a good look at the boiler, thermostat, radiators, and thermostatic valves in each home to ensure that they’re at the optimal settings that will help reduce and prevent the occurrence of damp and mould while keeping energy usage to an acceptable level.
If required we can carry out a BS EN 1281 compliant heat loss survey to determine the adequacy of radiator sizes and locations.
